The story is brought to life through the lens of two documentary filmmakers. Each player can take on the role of a different character, with wildly different backstories and skill sets. I don’t really understand the hate for The Great Gaias. Of course it’s an RPG with classes and stuff… the game never really tries to be anything but that. The story is told in first person. The combat mechanic is more like a rpg than an rts. The game puts emphasis on character development. That’s it. The game is simple and obvious. I guess it’s just because you are a fan of rpg’s and not a fan of those as well. A little single player RPG where you take on the role of a nobody? You won’t find anything remotely close to The Great Gaias here.

There are good points to The Great Gaias, but for me personally the fact the game is short and simple (even though there’s so much of it) is a big downer.

What is it?

The Great Gaias is a single player rpg where you play as one of two characters: a slave of the royal house from the nation of Liora, and a guard of the Royal Guard. In between you are attempting to save the nations of Liora from a corrupted city-state and the faction that controls it.

What is it’s appeal?

The Great Gaias is a very simple game that excels at it’s simplicity. It’s story is simple. The game presents a problem, and then you go off to save the world. It follows a clear route and you never really need to explore much of anything. It doesn’t try to be much more than a rpg, and it’s just that. Don’t expect much in the way of depth or story. All the world of Liora takes place in three regions.

The game is not very difficult (but it has it’s challanges). There’s no complex party or any player interaction. The combat is a simple battle between your character and a group of enemies. You choose your
