It seems like he has been a devotee of Saras Salil long time back. If we are to believe him, when he published Hitopadesh, it was done at the direction of Dr. Vidyavinode, the founder of Saras Salil, in the year 1944 at the request of Sri Kripa Ramu of Hitopadesh. The transfer of Dr. Vidyavinode, who was a firm believer of Hitopadesh, from Calcutta to Rajkot was influenced by the circumstances. Sri Kripa Ramu and Sri. B.V. Subhash Jayakar were well-known personality figures of Rajkot at that time.

“ Kripasri” is his copy paste name for this letter, and there were many letters written to Dr. Vidyavinode at the same period. Among those letters is one written by Meherjee -Veer -Deora Devi, the then district collector of Rajkot. She was a very happy writer, and she probably wrote this letter not knowing about Hitopadesh and Saras Salil. If you do not want to read it, it is okay. I have created a PDF file of Meherjee-Veer-Deora Devi letter and made it available free of cost.

There are countless translations and commentaries of Hitopadesh in Sanskrit language. Some of them came out under Sri Bhuvaneshvar Shejwalkar and Sri. Sri. B.V. Subhash Jayakar. But there are a few which have been published at the request of Sri Vidyavinode. There was a firm belief that best thing to do is to reach to common man and world outside without any distinction. There were efforts towards this through academic books. His efforts towards this end were best though. I can relate this to my friend’s success in that he has published many books and paved way for others to do so. I am speaking about my friend Harak Patel, who created a flourishing business with non-academic books and brought a lot of good to people. Even before his success, his talent was demonstrated when he started a magazine Saras Salil. He brought out Hitopadesh as an academic book, which it is, but he also addressed a larger audience, including the common man. Saras Salil, the leading read magazine in the country, became a huge success and had worldwide impact. He wrote so many books that he created a larger market for himself. Everybody eventually become a business person, as soon as the success is achieved, if there are no other issues.

Hello friends, here in India famous Newspaper called Sakshi is publishing a series of books of Sanskrit shlokas. These shlokas are part of Digests of selected topics from Sadhana of Badarayana. These digest have been translated in hindi and published by Sakshi Limited, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi.
Namaskar. I am looking for a Hindi or English translation of the slokas of the Dvarapala’s duikara which are in the third chapter of the smriti called Dvarapala’s aruna. I am not able to find it. I am also unable to find the slokas in any book. I guess you can tell me where is the original and maybe provide the translations for them. Thank you.

I know there is a good Sanskrit Book on this topic on DLI. Also there is a good translation of the stotras in Hindi translation by Dr Agakhan.
