## Enabling Resize, Rotate, Crop, and CZoom
Photoshop CS6 includes several tools to resize images: Zoom Extents, Zoom Tool (Original, and Rectangular), and Adjust Size. These tools enable you to resize images and keep the edges of the image intact.
You can crop or adjust a rectangular area in an image, and you can edit the zoom window (See The Zoom Tool (Original, and Rectangular) for more about what these tools do.) These tools are available in the Image→Canvas Size command.
## Manipulating the Image
The Artistic Edges command (Figure 2-6, top) enables you to draw straight lines on an image using the Pen tool (see Figure 10-5). Use the Lasso tool (see Figure 10-6) to draw a selection. Use the Dodge tool (Dealing with Red Eye, Mist, and Other Problems) to lighten or darken areas of an image; use the Burn tool to add blur to the edges of an image; and use the Eraser tool (also see Figure 10-5) to remove selected areas of an image.

12 Days of Art After the Holidays
Today’s the last day of 2017 and with that comes a new year and new year’s resolutions. I’m not going to be cliché about resolutions and how most of us break them within our first few days of the new year.
Yet, I have seen some people take the resolutions they made in January a little more seriously than they have over the last year or two. That got me thinking about resolutions and how art seems to be a constant.
I have been looking at the practice of making and reviewing resolutions. Making resolutions you can keep is certainly a problem for many. I’m guilty of making resolutions that are either doable (such as, “I’m going to read one more book this year” or “I’m going to eat healthier”) or “I’m going to do as the New Year’s resolution I made 6 years ago.”
Taking a closer look at some of the most popular public New Year’s resolutions, we are seeing a number of interesting facts about these resolutions.
1. New Year’s Resolutions: Let’s start with the most popular, a resolution that appears more than any other. According to the November/December 2015, “The New Year, a Time For Resolution Survey”, nearly 1/3 of Americans will make a New Year’s resolution. At that time of year, is it also the time when people are telling others to make resolutions? What are people’s resolutions? This year, they are healthier, more organized, save more, and get a job. This invention relates to automated identification of human activity in electronic signals. More particularly, this invention relates to automated tracking of humans in multi-user applications.
Video surveillance systems are widely used in many public locations, such as corporate office buildings, shopping malls, and large retail stores. Video surveillance is typically used to detect and locate intruders or to monitor activities within a specified area. FIG. 1 illustrates a conventional video surveillance system. The video surveillance system includes one or more cameras connected to video acquisition boards. Various approaches for mounting the cameras to the acquisition boards are used in the industry. The video acquired from the cameras is digitized by the acquisition board. The digitized video signal is then transmitted to a video recording and management system (e.g., a video recording and management device 104). In the video recording and management system, the digitized video signal is stored in one or more storage devices, such as tape drives.
In order to monitor a region of interest, the video recording and management system can also include a display device. A person viewing the video signal can observe the video signal through the display device, and initiate an alarm, if necessary, when a suspicious activity is detected. The person can also initiate a recording device to record the incident.
While many conventional video surveillance systems include video recording and management capabilities, most conventional systems also lack the ability to independently identify the specific person in the scene being monitored. When a person participates in a suspicious activity, the conventional video surveillance systems typically only indicate an incident, and do not specifically identify the person. of a package of food, which is the main event of this program.
