Photoshop is an amazing program. It has revolutionized the way we all edit and create images.
Photoshop Elements is Adobe’s entry-level program aimed at beginner-level photographers, graphic designers, web designers and hobbyists. It’s way less feature-packed and has a much simpler user interface (UI) than the professional version, but is perfect if you don’t want to have to worry about endless menus or complex features.
Because Photoshop is so powerful and requires a much more in-depth knowledge of the program than Elements, this article only covers the basics of Photoshop.

Basics
Because Photoshop Elements has a simpler user interface, this article will only cover the basics of Photoshop Elements.
Adding and Editing Text
When working with Photoshop Elements, you can type or draw or write text on the image itself. You can even edit the size of text so that it’s perfectly aligned within the image.
Elements has some pretty advanced text features. You can rotate, skew and transform text. You can even change the color of text and change the underlying color of the text you type.
You can even add a standard font with a wide variety of styles, such as italic, bold and underlined. You can even apply effects to text. You can add drop shadows, and adjust the opacity of those shadows. You can add gradients and patterns. You can even create outlines around objects for added impact, or create outlines or watermarks around an image.
You can also add a touch of color.
Adding and Editing Lines, Shapes and Paths
The best way to get to know Photoshop Elements is to start off with the basics.
You’ll need to learn the general features of lines, shapes and paths in Photoshop. You can create a basic rectangle, an ellipse, add curves, create splines, create outlines, or draw a freeform line.
You can also easily add gradient fills and strokes. You can add drop shadows and basic text effects to your shapes.

I am writing a controller for a Java application and I am trying to get rid of the trailing ‘/’ from a URL. So, for example, if my URL is «», I need it to be: «».
In another application I just hacked together a function to do it, but I thought I would run this by the SO crowd. I just can’t remember how to do this.

There are many different ways of getting the trailing ‘/’ off of a URL. The best way is to use the Uri class and the URL property to get the ‘path’.

Well, you know, you can use the Uri class to do this.
If you actually want it in a controller, you could use a filter.
But, really, you should use the Uri class and just convert the Path to the correct type for your controller.

Yesterday, I talked about how it is so important that we do not beat ourselves up for being human. We are NOT bad, we have done nothing wrong and we are not a weakness because we are humans. We are perfect just as we are, we just don’t know it. One of the most important lessons is that we are not a weakness and it is not okay to punish ourselves.
And yet, we do this to ourselves constantly. I know I do, and I know you do too. We beat ourselves up on a daily basis for things we did or didn’t do. And it happens for all of us! I for one, also beat myself up for all of the things I have done in my life as well. It has happened, and as soon as it does, I immediately wonder if I will ever amount to anything. I look back on past mistakes and say, “how could I have been so stupid?” And it happens for me all the time. I have done so many, MANY dumb things. And

Stockholm-based Lisa Treiber is the person who coined the term. She is a social worker and was working in Eastern Europe helping women who have been raped. It is a difficult and traumatic experience to face. Treiber visited a recovery center for women called Women’s Hospital. It is located in Stockholm where countless rapes are admitted for treatment. Treiber saw the horrifying results of the assault. One woman told of how her body was in four pieces.
To Treiber, this was no isolated incident. She watched similar scenes play out over and over again. She witnessed hospital rooms filled with blood. She realized that rape is often allowed to take place to boost a woman’s life expectancy. Read more at Popular Science.
Sometimes, women don’t want to report it; sometimes they do. It is not quite as simple as that. There are a number of reasons why women don’t report rape, ranging from believing that they will be in more danger from their attacker if they go to the police, to the fact that they have lost respect for the entire justice system.
But it seems that the culture in the United States is changing. Women are beginning to speak more and more out against the oppression. They are becoming accustomed to going to the police.
More than just a hashtag, this is a cultural movement of sorts. Women are rising up to speak out against violence and to demand better conditions for women. In fact, this is an ongoing effort in Sweden that has been headed by a number of different groups over time. For instance, one group, called FRA has been at the forefront of this movement to try to stop violence against women. Last week, they began a campaign called “We say No to Violence.” This campaign includes an issue of which is the Equal Pay Act.
