In the past, I’ve been lied to about my work by my supervisor. We do mostly different work, with different deadlines; he works on the two main deadlines and I work on one.
Sometimes he tells me that he has pushed his work to the last day. But in fact he hadn’t submitted it, and I realised it on the day before the deadline. It is rare though.

I thought it was reasonable, and I was not accusing him of lying (I don’t care about that). I just thought it was stupid that he told me about the deadlines, and expected me to tell him about deadlines (and thus also be a team member). I know his solution would be to quit, and go work on a different project. So I did.
