On Monday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) warned: “A tsunami warning has been issued for the Pacific coast of New Guinea.”

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre had a tsunami warning in place for 18 Pacific countries, including New Zealand, Australia and Papua New Guinea.
