￭ The FreeVoice main dialog will open.

￭ Click on «Text to voice» and choose the agent file you want to run.
￭ Click on «Play» to run the agent.
￭ When you’re done with the agent, click on «Add agent» and click on «Done»
￭ If you’re using a Windows Compatible Sound Card, you can configure the sound card in the «Play» dialog.
￭ Click on «Sound…» to select the sound source that you want to use.
￭ Click on «Play» to adjust settings for a particular sound.
￭ When you’re done, click on «Play» again to hear the sound.
￭ Click on «Exit» to close the application.

Installation:

FreeVoice provides a way to utilize text-to-speech or voice capabilities with Microsoft Agent characters.
Microsoft Agent characters are used to provide both text-to-speech and voice control capabilities for Windows Vista. They run inside Windows Vista.
After download and installing, FreeVoice will be automatically
added to the Windows XP Start menu and ClickOnce applications (Windows Vista User and Administrator will also need to install this.exe file)
In order to use FreeVoice, Windows XP or Windows Vista users must install Microsoft Agent characters.
For instructions on how to install Microsoft Agent characters, follow these steps:
￭ Click on Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
￭ Select Internet Explorer with Advanced Installer and click on Finish
￭ Double-click on the agents.exe file (Windows Vista user will need to open FreeVoice.exe and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter)
￭ Click the No button (Windows Vista will need to restart).
It is highly recommended to restart the system after installing the Microsoft Agents.
Note: Windows XP User with Administrator rights will be able to install the Microsoft Agent files without using the Software Assurance enrollment.
