Go to Layer ⇒ New ⇒ Radial Gradient. I placed it in the center of my image, just like this photo, left, or you can place it wherever you like. The appearance of this gradient is based on the amount of gray in the image. I chose 120 for the Lightness setting and used a Blend Mode of Screen.
