Data exchange formats
Although AutoCAD’s native format is DXF (and DWG), the program also supports the DWG/DXF interchange format. However, most of the time it is preferred to use DXF for the simplicity of the import/export process. One of the advantages of using DXF is the fact that it supports editing on both sides.
