Database design – master table versus mirror table

I have a need to track all logic that occurs when we modify a part.
We have 3 tables to store information related to the part

LOGIC
Logic ID | Part ID | Logic | Reason | Time
VALIDATION
Validation ID | Part ID | Logic ID | Date
This way we can associate validation logic with the validation on the part.
We have a database that is just updated frequently so we do not want to update all of this when updating the PART table.
We would prefer if we just updated the PART table.
However, in order to do that we need to update the LOGIC and VALIDATION tables as well.
So this is one of the options we are looking at to reduce the tables that need to be updated.
