Five species, including three typical fish species (goldfish, channel catfish, and rainbow trout), were stocked in a 1000-m-long tubular river with continuous light exposure. Water flow was monitored using an accelerometer, and the temperature was measured daily at three sites in the river. The results indicate that the biological activity was maintained at similar levels between the river and the two water treatment units in the river. However, the DO concentration was higher in the river than in the treatment units. Also, the survival of fish eggs, larvae, and fingerlings was improved in the treated river compared to the river. The average mortality rate of eggs and larvae was less than 10% in both the river and the treated river. Survival rates of embryos and larvae were significantly higher in the treated river than in the river. Also, the number of fingerlings recovered from the treatment units was larger than from the river, although there were no statistically significant differences in the number of fingerlings recovered between the river and the treatment units. The DOC concentration in the treated river was negatively correlated with the number of fingerlings produced.
