A little about AutoCAD

AutoCAD is a commercial computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) application. Developed and marketed by Autodesk, the company, AutoCAD was first released in December 1982 as a desktop app running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. These drawings are composed of line, polyline, polygon, spline, circle, arc, ellipse, image, text, freeform, hatch, dynamic, and multi-hatch drawings. In addition to 2D objects, AutoCAD allows designers to create objects in 3D space (2D and 3D).

As of 2018, AutoCAD has more than 6 million users worldwide. Over the years, AutoCAD has become the go-to software for drafting, design and documentation. The following is a list of features available in the standard version of AutoCAD:

Firmware

AutoCAD 2009 and earlier versions use a build-in firmware that must be updated to use the new features. AutoCAD 2013 uses a new version of the CADBoot Flash IDE to update the firmware, although some users still need to update the firmware via USB. The 2014 release of AutoCAD includes C++-based «Dot Net» firmware (called Cad.NET or BAP/BAP.NET), but can be upgraded by the user to be the same functionality as AutoCAD 2013. It includes more functionality, for instance allowing users to use some third-party Autodesk plug-ins and models.

AutoCAD 2018 and newer includes the BAP.NET firmware, which allows users to perform firmware update directly from the user interface, similar to the Windows update process.

In addition, AutoCAD users can use firmware from third parties, as can be seen with third-party offerings of CADBoot Flash. It is not compulsory to use the standard version from Autodesk, which is the default option when the user first launches the application.

How would we start advertising our internal social networks and get more people to use them and contribute to it?
