What’s New In?
Photo editing tools, such as the Healing Brush and the Clone Stamp, should be used cautiously if you have two conflicting textures. For instance, let’s say the image was made of a stained glass window where red areas are brown, and the white areas are clear and glass. If you use the Healing Brush, the entire glass texture will be white, because it doesn’t know whether you’re restoring lost color or just removing the stain. You can solve this by using the Clone Stamp. Once you first remove all of the red, for instance, do a copy of the white glass. You’ll now have a clean, non-stained glass that you can then paste where the red was, restoring the original color.
There’s also the Smudge tool. This tool allows you to smear an image by moving the mouse around on it. Unlike the Dirt tool, the Smudge tool allows you to create a freehand stroke that adds color and gives a grainy finish, similar to the look of actual print.
The brush options can be adjusted with the Pressure setting, and the size of the brush is controlled by the Size setting. The Flow setting determines how fast the brush paints the image.
The Paint Bucket tool is one of the most useful tools available in Photoshop. Paint fills an area of an image simply by clicking where you want the new color to go. There’s a limit to how large the area can be, so make sure to use Paint Bites if you want to make an area large.
The Healing Brush can be used to fix image problems such as scratches and holes. This tool can be used to clean-up an image, to fix wrinkles in clothing, and to reduce red eye and blemishes.
The Levels controls the overall contrast of an image. You can also adjust the light and dark points within an image. This can give you a more accurate way to adjust white balance.
To emboss an image, select a Fill and Stroke, choose the emboss effect, and apply it to an image with the Stamp tool.
Use the Gradient Glow tool to create a glow around the outer edges of an image. Apply this to a colored or grayscale image.
Use the Lasso tool to select portions of an image and delete them. You can select different portions of an image at once, using the Alt+Click method.
