creative dimension software ltd was founded in 2001, and has over 14 years experience creating and publishing 3d models of real world objects, in a range of fields from architecture to zoology. 3dsom pro is the flagship product of creative dimension software ltd and was the first program of its kind to enable users to capture and create 3d models from photographs. its use is widespread in the architectural, archaeology, arts, craft, historical, manufacturing, medical and zoology fields.

3dsom pro v4.2.7.4 includes significant new features, such as the ability to export models in the webgl format and a new user interface. additional new features include the ability to import and export models in.obj,.dae, and.mb files, as well as the ability to generate textures for the specular and transparency channels of an object, and the ability to create models with transparent materials. in addition, new features have been added to improve the speed and memory usage of 3dsom pro. finally, a new user interface has been added which includes the ability to import and export models, as well as new camera controls.

3dsom pro is a powerful modelling and scanning software for professionals. it allows you to turn your scanned data into a 3d model and 3d print it. or you can start a new scan of a completely new object. you can combine the scans to create a model that is more than the sum of its parts.

in addition to the new iphone workflow, 3dsom pro v4.2.7.4 contains a number of improvements. key features include:

new texture tool allows you to give a model a texture-mapped look by extracting 2d images from a background and projecting them onto the model. this gives a highly realistic, photorealistic appearance.
new 3d paint tool now allows you to paint over existing surfaces of a model, easily replacing existing materials or creating a new one.

finally, i have added a new user interface to 3dsom pro to make it easier to find tools and features. the new toolbar is for users wanting to quickly capture photos, edit the photos and create models with 3dsom pro.
the new texture feature mentioned above is demonstrated here. for this i have imported an.obj file into blender, and then exported the object in 3dsom pro. the newly imported.obj file can then be edited in 3dsom pro and exported in any of the supported formats. the new feature enables users to import.obj files with textures containing specular and transparency channels. this allows for transparent materials to be recreated in 3dsom pro for the first time.
the new user interface now includes the import and export of 3d models. the file format is now set to.obj, and the new interface makes it easier to work with multiple 3d models. 3dsom pro will now correctly import and export.obj files with transparent materials. 3dsom pro will also be able to export models into webgl formats with textures and with transparency maps. finally, the speed of model creation has also been improved, and the memory used by 3dsom pro has been reduced. the new user interface can be found by clicking on the ‘file’ menu item on the main menu. there are now also additional camera controls in the tool bar, to make it easier to take photos.
