Sometimes this works well; others, it’s like you’re controlling a car trying to find an open door. While that motion is great, the fact that there are many enemies trying to block your path is often frustrating.
Aftermath’s format is also very interesting. Players will be able to customize the look and feel of their base, and they will be able to equip weapons, shields, and armor. We never get to see that in most online shooters, but it’s a fun mechanic for Aftermath that encourages players to create some interesting bases and playstyles. That kind of creativity is a major strength of the game, and it should be an especially fun feature for players who are familiar with the genre.
